Surge protection devices for low voltage power equipment
The stepped design of the CT fine overvoltage protector is specially aimed at protecting data processing, instrumentation and telecommunication systems from atmospheric or industrial transient overvoltages.
The equipment consists of a base completed with a plug containing the impedance isolating elements (spark-gaps and diodes) as well as a fine protection stage.
It is possible to disconnect the plug from the base without interrupting the circuit.
1 Location:Install CT overvoltage arresters as close as possible to the equipment to be protected.
2 Mounting conditions:The modules must be screwed onto an Omega rail of 35mm or onto a 32mm “G” rail.
3 Wiring:The earthed link of the modules is via a rail which must itself be connected as directly as possible
to earth. If the use of a cable between modules and equipment is necessary, it is advisable to use shielded cable to reduce the influence of external interference.
The unprotected side of the line must be wired across terminals N°1 and 2 (“IN”) and the side to be protected across terminals N°3 and 4 (“OUT”). Cable shields and screens can be earthed via “earth” terminals located on the upper and lower part of the CT base.
