The various available plug in format surge protectors allow the protection against lightning surge voltages of different types of sensitive equipment, such as personal computer or TV/Video systems.
This «plug-in» format, to fit in the wall AC outlet, allows a fast and error-free installation, directly on the wall outlet, by the end user.
