DGX overvoltage arresters are used for high-level protection of single-phase and three phase circuits of electrical installations. They are always used in conjunction with high-energy, DGT or DGA type overvoltage arresters positioned upcircuit. One module should be used for each pole to protect.
Protection is provided by a zinc oxide varistor which is able to channel currents of up to 10 kA to earth without incurring damage.
The DGX overvoltage arrester benefits from a new design of removable cartridge allowing the varistor to be replaced without affecting the overvoltage arrester’s wiring.
